…I’d like to know how the ISIS images that I blogged “here”:http://www.totalwonkerr.net/1535/syria-alleged-reactor-images square with the photos described in this “ABC News story”:http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=3752687 from a few days ago.
According to that story:
bq. The official described the pictures as showing a big *cylindrical structure,* with very thick walls all well-reinforced. The photos show rebar hanging out of the cement used to reinforce the structure, which was still under construction.
I can think of a few things, but this apparent discrepancy strikes me as a bit odd.
It would be helpful if we had more historical imagery. It could be that the thick-walled cylindrical structure was begun first, and then the building was built around and on top of it. Historic analysis of imagery could determine a lot more about the facility than the single, recent shot we have today.
So you’ve never heard of squaring the circle?
No? How about cubing the cylinder?
Presumably, no one at ABC News saw the photos in question. They probably built their computer graphics based on verbal descriptions, perhaps a sketch. A few things may have been lost in the process.
Who knows? Maybe the tube structure is inside the box structure. Or perhaps the cylinder is the online avatar for the box structure in Second Life.
You’ve gotta stay in touch with your inner concrete cylinder, I always say.
